The
Detective Birthday Party Games
 |
Guess Who
This game starts by pasting labels on the backs of the guests. The
guests obviously can't see their own labels but can see others.
All the labels are "bad guys"or
"good guys" from
various children's movies. They then ask each other yes/no questions
and try to figure out who they are. By going back to some of the
classic movies, this is challenging enough for the 8-10 year old
crowd. This takes about 15-20 minutes. The labels are part of the
party package. |

The Hunt
The game begins with the reading of a short letter from an undisclosed
source advising the guests that one of them is a ghost, that the
murderer is one of the party guests, and that they must figure out
who has been killed, by whom, and how. The letter ends by sending
them off to find clues. The "clues"
are envelopes, one addressed to each child, written in doggerel
poetry, containing riddles directing them to next clue. For example
“ To figure this out, it’s sad but true, you must now go find something
blue”. The next clue is then hidden in/on/under/around something
blue in your house. There are a few clues/props pertinent to the
mystery, but the real fun for the kids is figuring out the next
location and racing to get there. |
The very last clue is a fingerprint, and then they all
go take each others fingerprints and try to match them to the clue.
You will need: to
supply stamp pads and paper for the fingerprinting. A couple of toy
magnifying glasses for identifying the fingerprints are helpful, but
they are optional. A box of Baby Wipes and paper towels for the inky
fingers is a must.
Pop
the Balloons:
 |
What
you need.
- 2 packets of different color balloons. (Red
& Blue)
|
1. Divide the group into
two equal teams and have them form two queues.
2. Give each person a balloon. Red for one team and Blue for the
other.
3. At the other end of the room, facing the queues, place two upright
unpadded chairs.
4. At a signal the first person in the queue blows up their balloon,
ties it, (the adults can do this if the children
are young) and runs with it to the chair. They
place it on the chair and sit on it, bouncing up and down if necessary,
until it bursts.
5. They then run back to their team and the next person blows up
their balloon and repeats the action. The
first runner goes to the back of the queue and the team that
finishes first wins. |

10 seconds
5. Each group has to write down as many of the objects

6. Then uncover the tray and see who has the highest
number of correct objects. |
 |
Pass the Balloon
1. Players are in a circle.
2. They pass the balloon to each other behind their backs,
trying not to hold it for a long time in their
hands.
3. Then after the signal the player who has a balloon in his
hands is out of the game. |
 |
WHO is the most Attentive?
The players get into a circle and fulfil the commands of the leader.
But they must fulfil only those commands which begin with the word
"Children".
For example: "Children, squat!" "Children, link your
arms!" "Stand apart!" The player, who fulfils the
last command is out. |
